He is leash trained, is good in the car, and likes toys. He is affectionate, intelligent and gentle, however he seems to have a prey drive and is protective. Boo is a fast bonder to anyone that is willing to pet him. Boo responds to basic commands very well. Boo was awarded his CGC during xxxx and is a Card carrying Therapy Dog certified via Therapy Dogs International during xxxx. Boo is gentle with people. He listens well at home and most of the time away from home. He has good leash manners and takes correction well. He will bark loudly at the doorbell and needs a stern voice to quiet him. When his people go away and return, he greets them with toys and happily romps around the house. His character is all German Shepherd; he's smart and wants to please. Boo does not get along with strange dogs walking by. He is protective of his people. He has lived with other dogs without problems. Boo does well at adoption events with other GSDs. I'm not sure how he would be with cats or small dogs. He needs a strong confident experienced leader or he will take the lead. He loves taking walks and is good in stores where allowed. He's best with a fenced yard as he loves to follow scents and could forget to stay in his yard. He will get on beds or furniture if invited but usually just lays on his bed or the floor as long as the family is near.
